Mini and Moke

Now with the Classic Mini in its 60th year, Mini & Moke World have (over the last near decade) struggled to supply a “used” or refurbished Mini or Moke under the ever popular price range of around $20,000. We have sold mostly ex-customers cars off our site, as knowing the history of a classic car is a valuable piece of information! It seems that privately, a reasonable condition classic Mini or Moke is around the $25,000 mark, bearing in mind this often still needs registration, engine, paint, rust, trim, brakes etc. to get it up to spec.

This has made it basically impossible for us to provide finished and roadworthy classics at what the average persons wants to spend. Saying that, as values have soared, so has the refurbished and restoration sector.

Staff-specific trade skills like paint, body repairs, trim repairs, engine machining, diagnostic tuning & fettling etc. have been harder to find, as these skills haven’t been taught for many years at TAFE. This in turn with the Sydney property boom has seen labour and overall costs climb steeply.

We regularly spend time summarizing what’s available and in many cases say people may need to buy privately and then find a shop like us to get the car up to scratch.
